The two pillars are 30m in length. After 30m there’s another optional pitch of thin ice over slaby rock. If you do bonus pitch you can walk off of lower west glacier trail.

-If lake frozen: Park at Glacier Visitor Center and walk on lake to south side of Mendenhall peninsula (the large mass of rock to lookers left of glacier) until route comes into view. Bushwack your way to route. Occasionally the lower West Glacier trail is boot packed and you can use that to skip some alder bashing. If lake not frozen: Park at west glacier trail, follow trail to fork. Take lower west glacier trail (right at ice boundary 1942 sign) until route comes to view then find your way to it.
