Length: 60 meters
Located below and to the left of Merlin, it is situated above a large avalanche fan and below an obvious gully. Because of these objective hazards, this climb should only be attempted in stable snow conditions. This route was established during the Japanese climber exchange during the third Valdez Ice Festival. A small water ouzel bird was found splashing in sections of an open Mineral Creek on the first ascent leading to the name which translates to “water bird”.
