Many spots of the approach are threatened by near constant small rockfall due to glacier recession and overhead avalanche danger. Position yourself wisely when hiking up the canyon in regards to rockfall, don't position yourself in the canyon at all if avalanche danger is questionable. Access is safest during an early season cold snap.
