These climbs are about 20 miles from the Purinton Creek trailhead, making machine access the most reasonable proposition. Just before you begin to make the climb to Chitna Pass these pillars will come into view on the left. You can machine up to the bottom of the ice if there is enough snow. These pillars come off a very steep rock wall that overhangs some 15 feet.
