The climbs along Turnagain Arm form on the walls along the Seward Highway. These climbs all exist directly south from Anchorage and north of Girdwood. Many of the climbs can be dangerous as the belays can sometimes be within several feet of highway traffic. Additionally, falling ice from climbers can be hazardous for the highway traffic. Areas like Candyland offer a nice alternative to the mostly nervous climbing on the Turnagain Arm.
