When heading south out of town on the Seward Highway approaching Potter Valley Road, be sure to keep your eye on the hillside behind Potter Marsh for a glimpse of this climb. From the highway, turn left on Potter Valley Road then left again on Old Seward Highway. Drive Old Seward approximately 1/4 mile towards Anchorage until you reach a small pullout on the west side of the road. From the pullout, walk the road back towards Anchorage until you find the most desirable access to the climb. Be prepared as the approach requires a shallow pond crossing and a short, but steep hike to the base.
