Park at the pullout next to the gravel pit across from Carlo Creek on the Parks highway. The gravel pit is a “no trespassing” area. Don’t block the gate to it. Head due west to the bluffs overlooking the Nenana River and the climb is above the plateau on the opposite site to your northwest. It can be seen from the bluffs on the east side of the river so get your bearings there as it disappears from view until you are right next to it from there on.

Send us your video of this climb.

  1. GPS coordinates for this climb are over 200 yards too far west (upstream). Better coordinates are 63.579549°, -148.858449° in WGS84 (Google Earth). We ended up too high but it wasn’t a total loss because there was great powder skiing to be had.
